NOMINATIONS FOR SECTION OFFICE
The following is a list of elected MCH Section Offices which are
elected by a vote of the membership of the MCH Section:

Chair-Elect (6 year term - 2 as Elect, 2 as Chair & 2 as Past-Chair)
Secretary-Elect (4 year term - 2 as Elect & 2 as Secretary)
**Both Chair-Elect & Secretary-Elect are elected every two years (even
years).
Section Councilors (3 year term)
**2 new Section Councilors are elected each year.
Governing Councilors (2 year term)
**4 new Governing Councilor are elected each year.
Elections are coordinated by APHA, but the nominations process is
coordinated by the MCH Section Nominations Committee Chair. The
Nominations Committee selects a slate of nominees (2 per position)
each year for the MCH Section positions that are to be elected in APHA
elections that year. The committee attempts to balance nominees with
regard to ethnic, gender and geographic balance. Nominations are
submitted to APHA by the Nominations Committee Chair in February of
each year. APHA mails ballots to all section members and then tallies
the returned ballots and announces the winners prior to the next
Annual Meeting. Elected officers & councilors take office at the end
of the next Annual Meeting and serve their prescribed term.
Call For Section Office Nominations
For information on the nominations process or to nominate someone for
section office (including yourself) contact the MCH Section
Nominations Committee Chair. All MCH section members are encouraged to
participate in the Section Leadership. Nominations to the committee
are generally due by January 15 of each year.
